I've found some of my favorite travel articles in Wine Spectator. I also like the NYTimes weekly Sunday Travel section. I regret that Bella Italia ceased publishing as did my all time favorite European Travel and Life.
Whatever travel mags I've subscribed to over the years, I've always clipped the articles for destinations I expected or hoped to go to. I'm finally planning my long-awaited trip to Santiago de Compostelo and I found an article from 1980 from Bon Appetit about it.

After Bella Italia in English ceased publishing I subscribed to the Italian version (I speak Italian). What a gorgeous magazine that is! However, earlier this year I didn't renew due to the Euro exchange rate (The subscription is set in Euros).

For UK-based readers I would also recommend the weekend paper travel supplements. My favourite are those published by the Independent and the Telegraph. My parents are Telegraph readers so they save all the travel supps in a huge pile for me between visits. I tend to buy the Independent when I remember. I also enjoy the travel supps of the other broadsheet weekend papers as well.

Another vote for National Geographic Traveler. Also, National Geographic Adventure. It's basically a travel magazine but more focused on sites like national parks and destinations off the typical tourist track.
