Travel Insurance - anyone had to file a claim?

I have researched insuremytrip.com for my vacation in October and I am leaning towards either CSA or Travelex. Does anyone have experience filing a claim good or bad? What is the response time, did you get reimbursed, how much of a hassle? I am looking at insurance since I am renting an apartment this time and would feel better paying $185 than $1500 if I have to cancel my trip.

Clea-
I use TravelGuard when I go on vacation - (www.travelguard.com). I had to file a claim about 3 years ago and I had no trouble, no questions, no hassle from them. I got all my money back within about 3-4 weeks. Since then, I have insured all of my trips to be on the safe side.

In 2004, my mother in law passed away while we were in Italy. Needless to say we had to interupt our trip to return home.

I gathered all our receipts due to the early departure and was reimbursed for over $2000. We were on a walking tour and they reimbursed us for the part we missed.

Go with insurance, you never know, especially when you are spending so much money on a vacation.

We had planned a trip to China and had purchased Travel Guard insurance, since there would be a considerable outlay of money prior to the actual trip. My sister/travel companion then had a heart attack and open heart surgery, so that we were unable to go. We filed a claim with Travel Guard and received our reimbursement--which at that point was only about $500 each--quite rapidly and with no fuss.

Has anyone used Travel Safe (also found on insuremytrip.com)? I just purchased a policy with them since they were one of only two companies with "cancel for any reason" trip cancellation/interruption coverage.
