Travel in Sicily
I will be traveling to Sicily 2002 with my family, which consists of four adults and one teenager. I am looking for suggestions on hotels and restaurants in the following cities Taormina, Palermo and Agrigento. I prefer small moderately priced hotels. I welcome any travel suggestions concerning Sicily because I'm now in the planning stages for this trip.

Forgot to add that we did not stay in Hotel Centrale Palace in Palermo but heard it is a great place. We went inside and checked out. It looked nice and so close to everything. We stayed just a few doors down at the Grande Albergo Sole which I cannot recommend. Grande Albergo Sole was very, very inexpensive and we got just that

I reccomend Baglio Conca d'Oro in Palermo, Baglio della Luna in Agrigento. In Taormina San Domenico, but its not so cheap: goto www.mediterraneo.it and have a look of these hotels and rates

Just back from Sicily.

In palermo we stayed at the Jolly Hotel. Very nice hotel and across the street from Villa Giulia which is a very nice park. They are totally re-doing the hotel including new walls, floors, etc. The rooms that have been started are completely gutted and it will be nice when done. They also have a pool which is heated. www.jollyhotels.it

Taormina, I also suggest the Villa Belvedere. www.villabelvedere.it
Good afternoon, Jo was glad to hear
your positive remarks about the JOLLY
HOTEL DEL FORO ITALICO, about a month
ago had remarks that the hotel was a
mess due to remodeling. We have used
the JOLLY, five or six times over that last 25 years and had always been very
satisified with the hotel, its service,
accomodations as well as their dining
room.
