Travel Heaven vs. Travel Hell

Heaven is where the police are British, the chefs are Italian, the mechanics German, the lovers French, and it is all organized by the Swiss.

Hell is where the police are German, the chefs British, the mechanics French, the lovers Swiss, and it is all organized by the Italians.

Oh Patrick, this is good. And probably too true!! Thanks for a good chuckle, need that as I leave to face the crowds at the stores.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks Patrick..I've always liked this one but I can never get the countries straight! I'm going to save it this time!

Though nowadays, those British chefs are pretty darn good!

Ah yes, this was funny back in 1999 when Bob the Navigator first (I think)posted it here - - http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...&tid=86833 - - and it's still funny today.

Best wishes,

Rex (the archivist)

Actually in REAL travel heaven, the lovers should be Scottish. With or without kilt. Trust me.

As a person of British, Italian, German, French and Swiss extraction, I am offended by this post.

No, no Ira, you can't be insulted! Just look at the Travel Heaven part. You will be so conceited we won't be able to stand it.

The only people who are truly offended by this probably aren't getting any.

Ira was being ironic, he has a great sense of humor. Dry humor is sometimes the best!

Patrick: Even if it may be old, thanks for resurrecting it. The requirements for Heaven contribute greatly to what, IMHO, make Lugano one of the near perfect destinations in Europe. Gradyghost

Who was it who said Canada could have had French cuisine, American government and British culture - but got British cuisine, American culture and French government?
