Travel From Ljubljana to Zurich
Hi All,
I am Maxz, me and my family are visiting Europe during Dec 2016. Slovenia and Switzerland are definitely the country we do not want to miss.
So, i need some advice what kind of transportation are the best to travel from Slovenia to Zurich.
At Slovenia, we will visit Lake Bled and Ljubljana .
Hope to get some advise here.
TQ

Basically, train or flight. Depending on when in December (before or after the 10th) you'll be travelling, you can check the timetables now or wait for the 2017 European timetables to be released. I recommend www.bahn.de for journey planning.
Alternatively, fly between Ljubljana and Zurich, there are direct flights between the two airports.
It's quite a long journey using ground transport as you have to travel lengthways along the Alps, so if time is a concern, a flight might be the better option. On the other hand, the train will be quite scenic.

Cheapest and less comfortable way:
Flixbus (with bus change at Munich), 12 hrs journey, fare around 35 EUR
Most scenic way: EC train (train change at Schwarzach),10 hrs journey
There is also a direct overnight train with sleeping cars.
Fastest way: flight with Adria Airways (4-5 hrs from city center to city center)

Definitely fly. Adria has at least two non-stops daily and the Ljubljana airport is fairly small and user friendly while Zurich airport is maybe the nicest airport I've ever used (and there is easy train service into the city center). Make sure you have the cream cake in Lake Bled
