Travel Budgeting & Trip Planning

Which software have you ever used to come up with a detailed personalized itinerary and record budgets with actual expenses? What would be your rate of satisfaction?

Hi Y,

>Which software have you ever used to come up with a detailed personalized itinerary

Word for Windows

>record budgets with actual expenses?

I let my credit card do that for me.

>What would be your rate of satisfaction?

Very high, until I get my CC statement.

I travel with a friend so keeping track of expenses is important. I use my Palm on the road. In the planning phase, I use Excel and Word. I use word to record all the great ideas I get here. I use Excel to set up the day by day information. I have columns for Date, Day of Week, Activities and Hotel. I keep transportation details in the Activity column. Format those cells under alignment and check the box for 'wrap'. Just before I leave I email it as an attachment to friends and family.

I third Excel for planning; for actually recording expenses, either my bank account or pen and paper does all right.
