Taxi would be the easiest way, RER/Metro the cheapest. Go to http://metro.ratp.fr:10001/bin/selec...h/france/paris for a Metro map and directions. For departure, put in Roissy/Aeroport Charles de Gaulle.

It all depends if you are in a hurry and during rush hour. If it's not the case for neither of those factors, the easiest way is to take the Air France buses. There is one every half hour linking all the CDG terminals to Gare de Lyon. Off peak (i.e. mainly before 7AM and after 10 AM), this should be a matter of 45 mn more or less. More info on www.airfrance.com. Otherwise, your safest bet is to take the RER (45 mn as well). A taxi will set you back 250-300 F, but you're likely to get there in 30 mn if traffic is OK.

We've used the Air France bus to the Opera building on several ocassions. The service is good and inexpensive. It probably also goes on to the Gare Lyon train station. This should be less than an hour from the Airport. <BR>If it does not go Gare Lyon, a cab from the Opera is only a few dollars (7-8 max) and you get a great view of the Opera building for free.

I know the nuance is quite irrelevant, but the bus going to Opera is not Air France's but is operated by RATP, the Paris Transport Authority. And it just stops at Opera, no further stops. Still, your suggestion is a good one, since it is much more frequent than the Air France bus to Gare de Lyon (and cheaper too, you're right).
