Transportation from Frankfurt to Prague

Hi folks,

We have a trip planned for summer to hop between different countries. Looking for suggestions for the best way to get to Prague from Frankfurt. Will be traveling with kids age 9 and 12 so want to make sure it'll be a pleasant experience with minimum time.

Easy, comfortable and cheap by train, from just €16 - or €30 in 1st class!

Book at Czech Railways website, changing the Czech flag to the UK flag for English at top right.
Enter Frankfurt (Main) to Prague and - this is the important bit - click More options then Travel via and enter Cheb in the via box.

See www.seat61.com/international-trains/trains-from-Frankfurt.htm#Frankfurt-Prague for detailed advice on this route and photos.

There may be an overnight train too - if so could be an adventure for kids - general train info -www.ricksteves.com and BETS-European Rail Experts in addition to Man in Seat 61's commercial site that he links to in his post.

There are no direct trains from Frankfurt to Prague.
You either make one change in Nürnberg from train to bus ("shortest" land connection, 6 hrs)
Or take trains all the way which requires two changes (7 hours)
Or take one of the many direct bus services from Frankfurt to Prague (but 7 1/2 - 9 hours on a bus)
You can save some time flying - which is also not that much fun as it means to navigate FRA airport.
Which is not one of the most user-friendly airports.

And no overnight train but now a bus - overnight on a bus is not for me after taking a few - much harder to sleep in upright reclining a bit seat - cheap though fares for tomorrow start at 24 euros.
