Transport from Dubrovnik to Korcula to Split

We are trying to get from Dubrovnik to Korcula town on 26 October then leaving on 28 October for Split. Are the ferries running at that time. Is there an easier way of doing?

Go to Korculainfo.com/ferries. The dates that you are traveling the ferry leave Dub at 9, arrives at Korcula at 1215, departs for Split at 1235 and arrives there at 1816.

In 2009, I did this trip by bus from Dubrovnik to Korcula and by fast catamaran from Korcula to Split. I didn't use the big ferries. The timings of the bus and catamaran weren't ideal (bus left Dubrovnik in early afternoon; catamaran left Korcula at 6am). And I believe they both run every day, even Sunday.

Out of curiosity, since I'm planning a similar trip, how are you getting to Croatia? Are you flying in? I'm trying to figure out the least expensive city to fly into from the states.

lor41886, there really isn't one least expensive destination with the byzantine airline system for determining fares. I have paid just as much flying round trip as I have flying open jaw. If you have a lot of time at your disposal, you can fly into a large European city and switch to a low cost carrier, but even that rarely makes that much of a difference (and you often have to change airports). I have had decent luck with http://www.croatiatravel.com/.

In 2009, I flew into Milan and started my vacation with a few days in Italy before training to Ljubljana, Slovenia and then on to Zagreb. There I rented a car for several days, drove through Plitvice Lakes, detour to Mostar, and dropped the car in Dubrovnik. I traveled up to Korcula by bus and to Split by Catamaran, then I flew one way from Split to Paris on Croatia Airways (and then a final few days in Paris). So my plane ticket was an open jaw into Milan, out of Paris, with my own transport from Split to Paris.

I could have saved time and flown into Zagreb directly most likely but it would have cost a few hundred bucks more; I figured the savings paid for most of the extra days I wanted anyway.

Croatia Airways has reasonable one-way fares within the country if that helps, and you can look at easyJet that may have seasonable flights into Croatia. London to Croatia might even run off season, not sure; if you don't mind staging a day or two in London that might work.

You could also fly into Italy and ferry across. Or take a bus/train. You could fly to Venice, take a 3.5 hour bus to Ljubljana and a 2.5 hour train to Zagreb. Or Venice to Trieste by train/bus down to Istria, for example.
