Transfer London Hostel Bookings - Trip Cancelled

We booked non-refundable Hostel rooms. Foolish of me. Our trip has been cancelled as our UK Visa got rejected. We need to transfer the Hostel Bookings;

1. SafestayLondonElephant & Castle Hostel

2. Checkin:02 Sept - Checkout: 09 Sept. 7 nights

3. Standard 3 Bed Private Ensuite - Private Room

4. Total cost paid - US$780. (US$ 37.14/night/pp)

I would like to transfer it to a group of 3 people. Will initiate a discussion with the hostel authorities and make sure a new booking receipt is issued for the 3 bed Private room.

Can provide all booking details and receipts. Pls email abhayjb at gmail.com

Not sure that anything can be done. I suggest you contact them direct asap and explain what has happened. If you are lucky they might be willing to offer a part refund or transfer dates. You could also check on your travel insurance, but I suspect the reason for the cancellation will invalidate the claim.

I recommend you talk to Booking.com. It's a situation that due to force majeure you must cancel. That is, you are canceling the room because it's impossible for you to reach your destination. Force majeure is what means that the rule of non-return of what has been paid is not applied to non-cancellable reservations. This force majeure means that we are no longer going to see the reservation modality, but simply that the contract must be canceled due to the impossibility of compliance by both parties.
