Transfer from Florence Airport (FLR) to hotel.
In September four of us will into Florence for 3 nights, take train to Venice for 4 nights, and fly home from Venice. The FLR Airport is about 10 miles (22 minutes) from the Paris Hotel near the Santa Maria Novella train station.
Our travel agent is asking $88 to transfer all four of us to the hotel. Is that a reasonable price, or can a taxi transfer for less? We each travel with a small suit case plus shoulder bad. THANKS,

The airport is a short taxi ride to the city. I don't remember the cost but it will probably be near $88 once the driver charges for 4 persons and 4 bags. We have always taken a taxi when flying in or out of the Florence airport and racall that it isn't far or expensive.

My taxi from SMN train station, a few blocks from the Hotel Paris, was less than 20 euro for one person last March. You may be charged extra for the extra passengers and bags, but no where near that expense.
I've stayed at the Hotel Paris a few times. The desk is very helpful and can call you a taxi when you need one.

Don't get fleeced! The Official Taxi Fare from select downtown hotels to FLR is 20 Euros, plus one Euro per suitcase (up to 5 Euros maximum). You will pay a total of 24 Euros, plus a 3 Euro supplement if going on a Sunday/holiday or between the night hours of 22 and 6.
