Trains in Italy

What can I expect from the trains in Italy. We are traveling via first class train from VEnice to Florence, Florence to Rome and Rome to Naples.

Hi V,

You can expect that:
the ES* trains are comfy and run on time,
the IC+ are almost as comfy and run on time
the IC trains are sort of comfy and mostly run on time
the D and R trains aren't all that comfy and sorta run on time.

as your trains will be either of the first two of Ira's classification and probably ES (EuroStar Italia high-speed trains) your trains will be most comfy, especially in first class.

You can expect to enjoy yourself totally. Seriously. I even like the D&Rs. But I love train travel, period!

On the ES and IC, even in second class you would probably be more comfortable than a coach class seat on an airplane.
