Trains in Italy
Has anyone ever purchased their train tix on-line prior to leaving? If so, I'm confused when the web site asks for the choice of fares. I can't find a legend of what they mean.

Hi Suego,
Are you trying to use the www.trenitalia.com site? If so, you can only purchase tickets from them if you are living in Italy.
Try www.railsaver.com for prices of various railpasses and p-t-p tickets.
If you have a day or so ahead of time, you can purchase your tickets in Italy.
Try www.eurorailways.com to purchase tickets in advance. They are pricey. A reservation will cost between $11 and $20 in addition to the ticket.

You can purchase tickets through CIT travel. Do a search for their website. We usually buy at a CIT travel agency once in Italy to avoid the long lines at the train station but they will also sell you advance tickets through their website and deliver them to your home or office.
