Trains in Belgium and Netherlands

Will be travelling from Amsterdam to Brugges and from Arlon, Belgium to Brussels on IC trains, 2nd class. Is there rack space above the seats for standard large piece of luggage?

Not sure what you mean by "standard large". If you mean a 18" or a 30" bag - no - they are too large. If you mean a 24" - yes you shuold be able to get it up there.

Ok, thanks. I assume then that there is a dedicated space at the end of the car for large bags.

Sometimes you can store luggage between sets of back-to-back seats as well as underneath seats depending on the rolling stock being used. No worries about your bags because unless the train is very overcrowded there is plenty of storage space.
