Please note that taking two wheelies - one mid-size and one carry=on is a really bad idea. You CANNOT get down the aisle with two wheelies. If you are taking a large wheelie than the carry-on has to be the types you can carry on your shoulder - or you will be making multiple trips up and down the aisle (blocking other passengers) while you get all of the luggage arranged.
That's how we usually travel (since we rarely do train) and we do first class so the larger wheelie can fit under your seat the long way and the shoulder carry-on go in the overhead. And yes, one person goes up the steps and the other (stronger) hands the two larger wheelies up to them - then gets on and you move to your seat.
There will be a bunch of people getting on and you can;t lollygag like people do on a plane - wandering around looking for space to put luggage. If you can get on the overhead or underneath seat it sits on your lap.
I have seen a family with huge bags try to get on - forcing 7 or 8 people to wait behind them while they foof around - this will NOT make you popular.

I agree that it's hard but you can - push one in the front and drag one in the back - down aisles but in practice it may be even hard at times to wheel anything down some crowded train aisles.

I agree with most of the posts that advised you to carry and watch your own luggage - don't take too much - one bag on wheels should be enough - my husband and I took the Eurail thru several countries over five weeks - we each took care of our own suitcase and wore a backpack - no time for chivalry when your trying to get on a train - enjoy !
