Train vs plane to Montpellier from CDG
I think we've decided that it is more convenient to take a train from CDG to Montpellier than a plane. We'll be arriving at 8:30 a.m. after a 16-hour day of travelling so we will be very tired. We are wondering if there is a lot of times that the train leaves from CDG and a website for the best rates, schedules etc.
Thank you

1. There are a good number of TGVs departing CDG for Montpellier. The best rates (available 3 months before departure) and schedules are found here:
www.voyages-sncf.com (in French only)
www.tgv-europe.com (select UK as your country)
In either case, you'll pickup your tickets at the service window unless you are able to purchase either PREM or iDTGV tickets which you may print at home. To pick up tickets you'll need in your possession the same credit card used in the on line purchase as well as the reservation number.
A possible complication arises if your aircraft arrives late causing you to miss your train. When scheduling your train, give yourself plenty of time in case your flight is late.
2. One strategy is to book your air travel to XPJ (Montpellier St. Roch train station) rather than CDG. This way your train segment will be protected in the event your plane arrives late.
