Train to Cinqueterre or fly from Liechtenstein?

We are debating either flying from Zurich to Milan and then train to Cinqueterre , or taking the train the entire way down. Is the scenery worth the 8 hour ride (from Liechtenstein to Bellinzona and then to Milan)? 8 hours on a train (total) sounds a little much.
Thanks,
Suzanne

Hi suzwarr,

I just replied to your post about staying outside of Geneva, so I am somewhat confused about your itinerary. Are you flying into Geneva or into Zürich?

It's really very easy to get from Lake Geneva to Milan --

If you give your total itinerary, we may be able to give better help.

It´s not like you have a lot of choice. Traveling to Zürich, flying to Milan and then taking a train to Cinque Terre will take a lot more time than just 8 hours.

Besides, a part of the trip (Chur to Bellinzona) is on a bus.

Hello all,
We are taking the bus from Chur to Bellinzona (will be in Liechtenstein with friends a few days before). It looks like from there you take the train to Milan and then Genoa and then La Spezia and THEN Monterosso. Ugh! I am tempted to fly but it is expensive to fly from Zurich to Genoa or Pisa.
S- we will be flying back via Nice to Geneva.
Suzanne
PS Does anyone know a cheap flight to Pisa or Genoa?
