as greg says you will be joining a stream of movement, you really cannot miss the station as the line share the causeway with only a relatively narrow road. We are not talking a multilane freeway here, Venice is small city.
If you have heavy stuff to move, there is nowhere for any fake porters to run with it the geography does not offer any opportunity, unlike say Maestre, (not that I suspect it is an issue inside Maestre station)

I don't really have a choice in having a heavier suitcase, I will be traveling for a bit with no way to do laundry. I should be able to work with all this information! Thank you again!!>>
Cruise boats do laundry, and undies can be done in the sink and dried over the bath.
Rule of thumb - put out what you want to take and then put half of it back.
