Train from Sorrento to Arezzo

My friends and I will be traveling to Italy next May and are having trouble finding a train from Sorrento to Arezzo. Does anybody have any suggestions? We'll be picking up our rental car in Arezzo so we can't change our destination. Any help would be appreciated.

Take the commuter train from sorrento to Naples Centrale, from where you will find some direct trains to Arrezzo and more links via a change in Rome. A very easy connection, taking about 5 hours all told. No direct Sorrento-Arezzo trains - impossible since tracks Sorrento-Naples are narrow-gauge and those from there wider-gauge trains so physically can't go thru. www.trenitalia.com for schedules Naples-Arezzo - Sorrento to Naples trains run about twice hourly but may not appear on trenitalia data base since they are not operated by them.

Hi O,

Mappy shows 2 Arezzos.

One near Genoa and one near Siena.

If you want the one near Siena, you take the Circumvesuviana to Naples and take the train from there.
It's 3:30 to 4:30 hr and about 30-40E pp.

See www.trenitalia.com

Why not pick up your car in Sorrento and drive? It's about 4:30 hr. It could be cheaper to drive.
