Train from Paris to Ecquevilly

Hi -- I hope some of you expats out there can help me out here.

My husband has a conference in June in Ecquevilly at the Chateauform (an all inclusive conference center). We are planning to rent an apt. in Paris since Chateauform doesn't allow kids.

Neither their website nor the conference brochure explains how to get to the conference site from Paris -- it only mentions that it's a 20-30 minute train ride from Paris.

So does anyone know how to get to Ecquevilly from Paris by train? I'll then look for an apartment in the arr. which allows the quickest and/or morst direct route for him.

Thanks for any info,

Hi TG,

www.voyages-sncf.com doesn't recognize Ecquevilly.

See if this works.

Go to www.ratp.fr.

Enter your address for "Depart" and <Bureau de Poste ECQUEVILLY> for "arrivee".

The site is temporarily down right now.

Good luck.

Agree the map and directions posted on the site are lacking. Suggest you use the contact email address on the site to specifically request instructions for using public transport.

You need the website for regional trains - www.transilien.com.

That suggests the nearest station is at Les Mureaux - trains from Gare St Lazare. From there, there's a local bus service. It would be about an hour from Gare St Lazare to the nearest bus stop.

See
http://www.ville-ecquevilly.fr/
and follow the link "Vivre à Ecquevilly".

I did email someone at the conference center -- about 5 days ago -- but have not heard back yet.

Patrick -- It looks like St. Lazare may be the way to go as far as neighborhood...and thankfully the 7am train doesn't take an hour.

Hopefully I'll hear back from the conference center with more specifics, but I do appreciate the links...they give me a starting point to begin planning. Thanks!
