Train from Copenhagen to Stockholm?
Does anyone have specific information or a website they can direct me to for the train from Copenhagen to Stockholm?
I am looking into sending my almost 16 year old by train from these points instead of plane...
Thanks!

e,
www.raileurope.com is good for point to point information. www.eurail.com is best for purchasing passes.
Generally, you can make reservations about 90 days ahead on raileurope.com. I think the trip takes some 5 hours.
I found the staff at the Copenhagen train station very helpful and fluent in English. While the automated ticket machines seem to have problems with US credit cards, there was no difficulty in getting tickets at the windows.
My guess is that your son need not have a pre-paid ticket unless he is traveling on very busy weekend.

Try the Swedish railways' website at http://www.sj.se/sj/jsp/polopoly.jsp?d=10&l=en
If you book a 2nd class youth ticket far in advance ("just nu 2. cl"
, you will be able to get deals as low as 162 Swedish kronor which amounts to $25.10 one way.
Happy new year and happy travels.
Phil.

I have also taken the train from the CPH it was very easy. As a female traveling alone I felt very safe. I do recommend taking the Ferry to Oslo if you are heading to Norway. They also have a ferry to Sweden. I just talked about it on my blog if you are interested please visit

For schedules, see www.bahn.de, entering the Danish capital as "koebenhavn". Direct trains take about 5 hrs 20 mins.
