Train from Chianti to Rome

We will be staying in Chianti (near Greve) with a car and would like to drop the car there and take the train to Rome. The options I have found, using the Trenitalia website, require that we take a train to Florence and change to a train to Rome there. Does anyone know of a place where the train from Florence to Rome stops in Chianti or will we have to go to Florence? If so, it would probably make sense to drive the car to Rome.

You could head south a bit instead and do as many do, dropping the car in Orvieto.

Yes, Orvieto or Siena are your best bets.

Arezzo (1 hour drive from from Greve and 2:22 by train to Rome) or Chiusi (1.5 hour drive from Greve and 1:37-1:53 by train to Rome) are also good options.

If you have not researched your car rental reservations yet, check autoeurope.com and kemwel.com. Call them if you have any questions.
