Train from CDG to Lyon
We're flying into Lyon this spring and one of my options is to fly to Paris (CDG) and connect to Lyon via the TGV train. In fact the web sites show an AA "Flight plan" that is perfect excepth that the destination is XYD instead of LYS. XYD is the Lyon train station.
It appears that the train leaves from the airport, so it would be as simple to get on the train as to get on a plane. But, is it as easy as it looks? Does it stop in Paris where we might have to change trains?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, it is even simpler than getting on a plane.
It is easier than it looks. You will not have to change trains in Paris if you get a through train (some trips require connections here and there).
TGV trains from CDG do not go through Paris.
See the schedule generator at http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en and enter "aeroport paris - charles de gaulle tgv" as your From: criterion, and "lyon" as your To: You want the trips with 0 in the chg column.

A lot of the trains from the CDG-TGV station have flight numbers now due to "intermodal" tickets -- the TGV has killed most flights to Brussels, Lyon, and quite a few other cities. When the new London TGV station opens next year and London will only be 2h15 from Paris, there won't be many flights left to London either. There are already only half as many as there used to be.

More specifically, AA uses Terminal 2A. The TGV station is underneath the Shearton, among terminals 2CDEF. There's a shuttle bus, but it's usually easier to just walk. After you get out of customs, turn right and walk past 2C and you'll be there.

Again, thanks. It seems pretty easy. Plus, the Lyon Part Dieu station is closer to our boat, so I don't have to deal with a long and expensive transfer from the Lyon Airport.
My only fear is that the luggage will be unwieldy getting it on and off the train.

Has anyone booked AA straight through to Lyon? My paper tickets include a segment from CDG to Lyon (XYD), but they don't have a seat assignment. I called AA and they said they don't do that, but couldn't even tell me what I needed to do.
Thanks
