Train from Bergen to Oslo

Hello -
I have been reading all the advise on the Norway in a Nutshell trip.

I have one question... Would the train ride between Oslo & Bergen be considered a `must see'?

We are looking at flying into Bergen & then flying from Bergen to Stockholm. But, if the train ride between these two cities is wonderful, then we could take the train to Oslo & then catch a plane to Stockholm from there.

Any opinions would be very appreciated.

It's constantly rated as one of the Top 10 train trips in the world by rail enthusiasts.

I thought the train from Andalsnes to Oslo was WAY better then the train from Bergen to Oslo. Take the Hurtigruten to Alesund (via Geiranger if available)then the bus to the Andalsnes train to Oslo.

Can only recommend the Oslo to Bergen trip. We didn't take any others in Norway. But, along with our 2 days in St. Petersburg, Russia, the Norway in a Nutshell trip was the high light of our Baltic vacation. We did a 10 day cruise, then the Nutshell. Really enjoyed Bergen.

Marsig...btw, it's a lot more than a "train ride"...very scenic boat legs on two fjords, also.

simply not possible WAY better - I've taken the Andalsnes-Oslo train and though it's fairly pleasant it ain't in the league of Bergen-Oslo - no WAY
