We will be staying in Belton, near Grantham [England], for a week, and one of our daughters needs to get from there to Waterloo to return to Belgium very early on a weekday. Can anyone help with this? [I had previously posted incorrect towns] Thanks.

You need to look at a map to see the nearest rail station. If it is Grantham, the first train on a weekday is at 0617, arriving at London Kings Cross at 0730 (www.nationalrail.co.uk). From Kings Cross, take the tube to Waterloo to connect with Eurostar.

Thanks for the response. After researching,we were a bit overwhelmed, since there seemed to be more than one Waterloo, and we weren't sure which to check [having never been there before]. This was supposed to be a relaxing trip, and now we find our daughter with a new work assignment for that exact time, in Belgium. Guess it could have been worse. At least that is close!

Is there a second train line that goes from northern England to London that might have an earlier start during the week? We're trying to get our daughter on a train that will get her to work without taking an extra day away from our visit together. This will be the first time the whole family is together in 6 months. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Where in Belgium? Might try Ryanair from London Stansted. They have a flight to Brussels for sure. Departs London @1130. Arrives at 1330. cost is #13.89. Look it up at www.ryanair.com.

Thanks for the additional suggestion. She is heading to Brussels, so I will research Ryanair as well. This was supposed to be a nice relaxing family vacation, but it's turning into something of a hassle, with family arriving on three different days and departing on three different days!
