The Oyster Card question is even harder to understand than dark matter or the Schleswig Holstein Question of which it was said by Palmerston

The only thing one need know about the Oyster Card is that it automatically is the no-brains way to go on public transport in Lodnon - assuming you will be there more than a few hours - automatically saves you money and time not queueing for tickets and gives you the cheapest fare. No-brainer - get the Oyster Card at Heathrow if going in by public transit or at the first Tube Station or you can buy it at many shops displaying the TfL Transport for London sales agent sign. And you can keep it for your next trip or give it to others to use and you can print out all your journeys by Tube once you get home. Don't need to know much about it - how it works - you wand the card over the Oyster shell looking reading devices at entrances to Tubes and buses.

I have seen a bloke who took the electrical bits out of the oyster (apparently nail polih remover disolves the cards) and put it in a magic wand.

It's brilliant. So it is.
