Traditional irish music next week?
Anyone know of any traditional festivals in Ireland (Dublin area and south to southwest) or of good venues for hearing traditional music, preferably outside of Dublin itself? We are only there from Wednesday to Sunday. Wednesday we'll probably be at Johnny Fox's.
Thank you.
Thank you.

I just ask because when we visited Edinburgh a couple of years ago I expected it would be easy to find a pub playing traditional music but had no such luck. All we could find was John Denver!

We were there in March, definitely off-season, and stayed in less touristed areas than it sounds like you're visiting. And we were there Sunday through Thursday. We were able to find traditional music every night we were there. So I really don't think you're going to have a problem.

Thursday evening you could attend a "Seisiun" stage show (music, song, and dance) sponsored by Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann. Performances are held in Cuturlann na Eireann, near the Seaport DART stop, at 32 Belgrave Square, Monkstown. More information: http://tinyurl.com/jnjhf.
