I don't think it makes any sense to buy a whole box of laundry detergent for two washes either. And a little detergent is going to take up negligible room in your luggage.
My only concern is that airport security may side eye your Ziplock baggie of mysterious powder.
I usually bring these along, and just do my washing in the sink, and hang dry:

Funny you should mention airport security--we were in Syria about 20 years ago and I had a fake roman head and a bag of dead sea salts. I was worried they would think the head was real but I got called out on the dead sea salts instead. Fortunately still in original container so not a problem!

UPDATE:
so after I posted this I used weather.com 10 day forecast (really a 15 days forecast) since the middle of August till I returned last night (Oct 11). There were roughly 5 days that the forecast was wrong either temp wise or the weather was not what it had stated. The further toward the end of the 15 day forecast there was more likelihood of a modification or a nice way of saying it was not as accurate as the previous 10 or so days. So maybe it was mostly cloudy instead of partly sunny!
Overall out of 16 days, 1 day of light drizzle in Antwerp and a pouring down day ion vienna, both forecast and anticipated but dreaded, by me. Otherwise perfect temps for me in the 50-60s and sunny to mostly sunny.
So all in all I felt weather.com was a fairly good forecaster no matter what the natives might say!
