Tower of London 2 for 1 offer
We are a family of two adults and two kids (soon 7 and 9). We will be in London from June 19 to 28, and definitely plan to visit the Tower of London. I noticed that there is a 2 for 1 ticket offer at the Tower until the end of May. Does anyone know if they normally have this offer available for June as well?
If not I will probably buy a Historic Royal Palaces family membership, since it also includes Hampton Court.
I have found most of the information I need already by reading the existing threads, but I'll have a few more questions in the near future.
Thanks for your help!

Hi gomiki,
This is the website, and it has lots more offers. Unfortunately we won't arrive until mid-June.

You can use the tube - I just used this offer this week. We had 4 adults so I registered under both myself and my husband and printed 2 separate vouchers (don't know if this is necessary but I read the fine print which said only one offer per family so I assumed it was limited to one free admission per family - I thought they wouldn't let my husband print a voucher under the same address but they did). We had 3 tube tickets and 1 Oyster card (for the tube)and they took them. If you look on the site under each attraction it says somewhere the participating transportation methods - Rail and Underground are listed separately. I also wondered if they would take my tube tickets or the Oyster card because the Underground site does not list this offer. But they took them and the lady didn't even look at them.
Note that you have to print the voucher and you have to pay at the ticket counter - no prepaying for tickets with this offer.

It's very unlikely this will be running in June.
They have promotions like this each year during the quieter months and it's never gone beyond the end of May in previous years. There are enough people wanting to visit these attractions during the popular months that they don't need to entice people in with offers.

Thanks. I figured as much, but wondered if anyone knew whether it had been extended to June in other years.
I guess I will go ahead and order a HRP family membership. As we are planning to go to Hampton Court as well, it will be worthwhile.

This looks great. I am registering with the site now. Do you put your USA address (our address doesn't really fit into the fields) or the hotel? We will be taking the train from Gatwick Airport. Is that "the closet station" to put down? We are staying at the Crowne Plaza Hotel LONDON-ST. JAMES by Buckingham Palace, but I don't know the tube stop. Thanks for any help.

I don't think it really matters what you fill in on those forms.
I'd just put the hotel address and then pick a nearby Tube stop - in your case St James's Park sounds like it would be near your hotel so that'll do.

Virtually all tourist deals in London end mid May. Once real tourist season starts, they are hard to find.
I did the 2-1 deals last year and there was no hitch at all. And no, it doesn't matter what you put on the forms. I also used Top Table to get a couple of very nice 2 for 1 dinners.

Hi rkyracr,
Historic Royal Palaces can be found at http://www.historicroyalpalaces.org/...tower_home.asp The family membership is 69 pounds (sorry I don't know the keyboard code the pound sign), and allows you to bypass the queues.
The Historic Royal Palaces include: Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Banqueting House, Kensington Palace and Kew Palace.
There is also a British Heritage Pass which may interest you if you plan on visiting more historical buildings out of London as well.

Thanks for the help. I have tried to register on the 2for1 site several times and keep getting errors. Has anyone else had problems? I went to the FAQ section and followed their tips for tech trouble with no luck.

rmw555: This thread is more than five years old. There have been (literally) <u>hundreds</u> of threads since then about this very same topic.
Sure hope you don't plan topping all of them
If you do a search you will find MANY threads w/ more recent info . . .
(a hint -- see the yellow/gold star at the top of the page? You can click that to save any thread to your favorites)
