Tours Leaving from Bath

We're going to Bath Spa in a couple days and I waited too long to book our tour of Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral. The Mad Max tour recommended here was all booked up. We'd also like to visit one of the beautiful villages in that area.

Could you all recommend a tour leaving from Bath? I'm especially interested in a tour by a historian like we took in Rome. Does that exist in Bath? I realize at this late date, it may be hard to book a tour at all.

We're also open to hiring a guide with a car, if that is better.

We'd like to avoid renting a car.

Thanks for your thoughts on this!

Sincerely,
Eeyann's husband

I am renting a car in Bath for touring in the Cotswolds. There are so many places to see. I know many say don't do it in London. I wonder if driving in the Cotswolds and to StoneH is safe for someone like me who drives on the right side?

There's a train every hour to Salisbury, taking just under an hour. There are regular buses from Salisbury to Stonehenge.

Millions of us every year drive in countries where people drive on the wrong side. Why would it be unsafe, unless you're an inadequate driver?

Thank you for your recommendations! If we can't get a tour from Bath, we'll probably take the train to Salisbury as flanneruk suggests.

Thanks again,

I've seen this company's bus around...

However they don't go to Salisbury.

You could email or call the Tourist Office and ask if they can suggest anyone else. You'll find the contact information on this website...
