My wife and I will be touring most of europe from 15 - 31 Oct 99. I plan on renting a car and was looking for any suggestions. Mostly site seeing and dining out but am not sure what is an expected price to pay for a rent a car or hotels. Basic accommations, I was quoted a price of $350 U.S. for just a 4 day rental which I am planning before our trip as I am already in europe. Also as my wife can fly in just about anywhere, I would like some info on a airport close to northern bosina which is in driving distance and not utter chaos to get in and out of. Thankyou.

Oy, I'm going to need some clarification here: <BR>1) MOST of Europe in 15 days?? You have got your work cut out for you. No way can you see *most* of Europe in that time. <BR>2) $350 for 4 day rental - are you talking about a car (in which case you are being ripped off) or a hotel (which may or may not be a rip-off, depending on whether that's for two and where). <BR>3)Dining and sightseeing recommendations? Do you want 10 pages on each country, and probably getting recommendations for places you won't ever visit? <BR>4)If you are trying to avoid "chaos" at an airport, WHY are you planning to drive to Bosnia?? If an airport can throw you into a tizzy, then a wartorn country is no place for you. <BR> <BR>Give everyone a hand up here, and give us some specifics. <BR> <BR>

Paul, given the fact that you have approximately 15 days to do a driving tour, I would suggest that you and your wife decide WHICH country/countries you will like to focus on. I suggest no more than 3-4 contiguous countries, i.e., <BR>- Bavaria (Germany)-Switzerland -Austria <BR>- Spain/Portugal <BR>- Northern Italy/Switzerland <BR>- England/Wales <BR> <BR>Once you decide and narrow down a bit the scope of your travel, we can go on to rental car, hotels, restaurants, etc...BTW, rental cars quotes from the States are far cheaper than from Europe. I would advice you to rent from the States. Hope to hear from you.

Paul, You asked this question in mid-July and I was one of the respondents. Not to be mean, but I thought by now you would realize you're in Bosnia, not bosina. Go to text search, car rentals, and you'll find Autoeurope to be the choice we unanimously endorsed. <BR>Meshuganah?

Thanks all. Well maira It is decided that the 3-4 country you suggested is our best option. I am currently in <BR>Bosina and will travel by bus to Zagreb and either by train to frankfurt to meet my wife at the airport. As far as the car goes the rate for my 4 day rental was far a 4 day trip from autoeurope with the car to be picked up and dropped off an the Zabreb airport. I plan to rent a car from canada and am interested in sight seeing in Germany/Austria/Switzerland and France. Any suggestions are very welcome,sightseeing,basic hotels, etc.Thanks again Maira.
