Touring Club Italiano Map of Tuscany, where to buy?
Is this the map everyone mentions to buy?

I'm just surprised I can't order it directly from Amazon (where I can could get free shipping), just want to be sure this is it? Stu? Bob? Anyone?
Also, is there one for Umbria, and should we get that one as well? We'll be there a few days as well.
Thanks! annieladd

annie,
We have had good luck finding them at Barnes and Nobel. These maps are our favorites and we have several, each for a different region....it used to be easy to find them on the autostrada stops, but last year, we saw none. They were carrying a different group.

The Touring Club Italiano's Heritage Guides mentioned on thesavvytraveller website are very good, but regrettably they do not include a detailed, all-region map and only have maps of smaller areas ("greater Assisi" and excellent, detailed maps of the towns. The city maps are topographical (showing elevation changes) and parking info. Very helpful in deciding how to approach a town, where to park and walk in, etc. The Heritage Guides also have historical and touring info and restaurant and lodging recommendations.
For Umbria, we get along fine with a decent regional map and the TCI's Heritage Guide for Umbria.

Nothing at the local Barnes & Noble. We were in a hurry, so I didn't ask, but tomorrow I'll see if they'll order one for me. The Savvy Traveler is more expensive than the ones you can buy through a third party at amazon. B&N did have a Michelin map of Tuscany (and some other areas), but it didn't look all that more detailed than my Michelin Italy map.
Thanks, annieladd

I found ours (Toscana/Tuscany) at our local Barnes and Noble. Our trip is 2 months away and this map proved to be extremely helpful in planning our itinerary.
I think it's a smart move to have B & N order it for you.
