I have done this tour and it was fine. It was a full coach of 44 people, but you got a good overview of the different places and did have some free time. If I remember correctly it was a full day and because of traffic we did not get back into London until about 8:30 PM.

Some tours even manage to sandwich in a stop at the famous and extraordinary xxxxx Gardens (whose name i cannot think of) that lie right between Salisbury and Bath Spa</i>
Stourhead, perhaps?

If you want a more personalized tour, contact Vic at www.vicstaxi.com. He will customize a trip for you, via car or people mover, and will include what you want (and what you don't) complete with local anecdotes. We signed up for a dusk tour of stonehenge with English Heritage, so we got in among the stones for an hour (you have to sign up months ahead of time). He took us to West kennet Longbarrow, Silbury Hill, Avebury Stone Circle, Salisbury, Woodhenge and Stonehenge. We could have done Bath but we'd both been before.
