Toulousaine is back! (anxiety cured)
Hello everyone!
We got back last week, but I finally have time to post a note to say that my anxiety calmed down thanks to all the great people on here who gave me tips and support. I didn't even take a Xanex before or during the flight.
We had a great time, hit Rome first and were at the Vatican a few hours before the Pope passed. Then off to Paris on RyanAir (great airline!), spent two days in Paris with friends and I must say that Paris is super clean now and gorgeous! (They are trying to get the Olympics)
Then we headed to Toulouse, where we lived in 2001, and saw all our friends.
I must say that we really ate our way through our vacation. We had better food in 2 weeks than we did in the 6 months we lived there.
I can now say that I like foie gras, gesiers and pate' (Had some great ones this time)
By the way, our kids did GREAT on the flights. On the way back (12 hours) our 2 1/2 year old was perfect. He entertained himself, which he never does, and I only had to get up with him one time. WHAT A RELIEF. So, I'm still an advocate of taking children to Europe!

Guten Tag Toulousaine! (I'm off to Germany in five days.) Just the other day I was wondering "where's Toulousaine and how did the trip go." I'm so glad you had a fantastic time. Can't wait to see a trip report when you get around to it. Now I'M starting to get a case of the nerves here!! Pass the Xanax this way!!

I will work up a trip report soon! Just to answer a couple questions: We stayed with friends just outside of Rome (Prima Porta).
Then stayed at a hotel in Paris near the Tour Eiffel.
Then stayed with friends and family in Toulouse, France. Too bad we left a few days before the new Airbus flew!
The highlight of our trip....our friend's dad (a real French chef ) made us a FABULOUS dinner that was to die for! Complete with menus and everything. I will detail it in my trip report.
Talk to you all soon!
