Top hotels Milan, good location too
I have not started researching Milan yet - oh, yes i have, by posting now!
Can anyone give me a quick run down on where is the best/most central area to stay in Milan for 3 days please. We are looking for a luxury hotel, in an interesting area, good for touristy stuff.
I understand Milan is great for shopping, but really that's not our main goal. Is there enough to see and do in Milan for 3 days?
thanks, from the land of Oz

Hi mel 1,
We have booked an extremely modern design hotel in Milan, The Straf for our stay in June. Friends have raved about the position which is central, near the Duomo and next door to excellent shopping. These friends love this hotel and even though it does attract some mixed reviews on tripadvisor I trust my friends taste on this one.
We booked the "Leonardo" package from the hotel website, which includes breakfast and tickets to the " Last Supper'.
Be warned, you will have to really like minimal, edgy design hotels to stay here!

Mel, another Aussie who has stayed at the Straf....superb ! Position is excellent. We had a bathroom that was totally black......everything, walls fittings, floor... all black. A funky place, the communal breakfast area was fun, we were there for a fashion week and shared breakfast with some stunning models !

Well, I will certainly check it out but I must say we are not minimalist kind of people. I do get the attraction, but prefer to go for a drink rather than actually stay the night!
Any other suggestions please....
What's with all the Aussies going to Milan!!???

Wow - I just checked it out - what an amazing place!
I can see why some would be attracted to it, it's very impressive.... BUT... not for us!
(are the rooms as small as they look?)
Thanks.... any other suggestions please?

For super luxury, try the Townhouse Galleria Hotel in Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele.
