Some many choices. Others will disagree but among my favorites are:
1. Excursion to top of Jungfrau
2. Lake Geneva boat trip - Lausanne to
Yvoire, France
3. Shopping in downtown Lugano (stayed at the Hotel Dante, just a funicular ride from the train station) - outdoor market is practically outside your hotel's doorstep. Colorful, lively, and delicious food.
Have fun, Linda

Here you are:

- eating a raclette or fondue in a small, warm mountain chalet that literally SMELLS of melted cheese;

- on a crystal clear day, hiking in the Engadin and reaching a point up around 2'500 meters where, when you stop and listen, there is NO sound...

- after a long hike, wading and swimming around in the indoor pool at the Hotel Julen in Zermatt and letting the water jets massage your legs and your feet.

XXX, well, I can agree with your 3 but have to add the Shilthorn on a clear day w/snowcapped mts around me.
Our day in Soglio was incredible, Kandersteg was a treat...it is impossible to narrow favorites to 3. Almost any waterfall would make my list too...I will say we hated Yvoire. <G>
Aloha, Linda

1) Walking the trail through the LaVaux vineyards, 2) --(many years ago) visiting the outdoor museum at Ballenberg, and 3) watching the lights of Brissago and Ascona in the blue-violet dusk of Lago Maggiore from my little balcony at the Albergo Panorama. Sorry, I couldn't make that last one short.

By the way, I noticed the disagreement re Yvoire. Don't you think it depends upon the day of the week and the time of day (and probably season) that you visit? I have found that to be true with most discovered places like Brienz and Rothenburg (de). Sleep over so you can experience them alone at 5 a.m. and they are wonderful. J. (I'm an early riser.)
