Thanks for your kind words, Ann - I had been feeling bad about taking so long to get these posted.>
Yeh I too wish that I had more time on my hands to do things that I cannot get to but would like to do and then sit around regretting that I do not have more time on my hands to do those things.

BTW I too find your pix great and echo others who find that too many Yanks only dwell in on the famous cities and places like Stonehenge that they have heard about - Britain as a whole has so so much neat countryside - I just love driving along those narrow rural roads lined often by humungous headges - lanes with passing places posted ahead - the old style country farm houses - the houses hemmed in by magnificent flora, etc.
Americans should indeed, if going by car, head off into the hinterlands and escape the heavily touristed cities - seek out the isolated B&B in a tiny village - head to the village pub at night, etc. Drink fresh milk still delivered to the B&B each morning by a milkman, something long gone in the U.S.
And do some hiking on the myriad of public footpaths - such a different Britain. I have biked all around Britain and the Britain you see by biking is so so romantic at times.
Now for that British weather - oh well all cannot be perfect.

annhig - cnetral heating - it is over 100 degrees here today and humid - like the Sahara. biking around England is great except for the at times even in summer windy wet weather. But oh for some of that cool British weather over here right now!

If I'd taken pictures this week you probably would have seen floods!
Luckily the pics are from Easter - our new summer season of April and May ( now that everything has shifted). Autumn is June to November, and Winter is December to March. We don't bother with spring any more.

annhig - yes this Sahara is humid as well - about 85% but it sstill has not rained in weeks - all brown much like I once saw in England the infamous heat wave of a summer several years ago where all was brown in England - hard to believe.
