hetismij, we really know that, just don't like to admit she's fine without us. Our dogsitters actually let her sleep in their bed and lounge around their pool on the furniture!!
We will plan on 4 weeks next spring!

Gorgeous pictures! I was interested in your camera as well, even though I know it is NOT the camera but the photographer who makes or breaks a picture! Did you lie on the ground to take the pictures looking up through the tulips at the sky? Thanks for sharing.
Can't wait to hear more about the trip and see more pictures.

Good morning everyone!
I'll get a start later today on the report... I'd like to have more from Amsterdam up to illustrate before I go too far, though. About half the photos are from Keukenhof.
irishface, I didn't lie down, I just held the camera low and pointed upwards. I shot several times in an effort to get a good composition. Same thing with the "zoom" effect you see. The effect was pretty nifty.
I figure digital is free! I had to smile when a guy behind me, who was holding a little point and shoot, watched me intently and then did the same thing as soon as I moved on. Yay! I influenced someone!
Lost: I would be willing to bet even this week is too late for tulips. I cannot speak to other flowers though - surely there has to be something in bloom over the summer. My understanding is that the season for tulips is roughly three weeks long and depending on weather can start mid-April or a little later. This year was warm and sunny and I was told that the tulips were already past their peak unless you went north to Julianadorp and Anna Paulowna, etc. If this is past their peak, wow!
Ted, many thanks - there will be a report forthcoming, promise.

What brilliant tulips in bloom today on Copley Square in Boston! Worship at Old South St. church. Nothing of course equals those tulip rows in Holland and the displays at Keukenhof Gardens (despite the crowds).
