tipping with travelers checks?

I have some new information on this topic! I received my travel documents from Globus. It states in the "money" section:
"Travelers Checks can also be used to tip tour directors and drivers." For optional excursions you are charged in USD. "your tour director will probably request you pay 25% of the total for your optional excursions in cash." I am assuming that this doesn't HAVE to be US Currency, but TC should be acceptable. It goes on to explain that you still need to bring some euros for tipping of local guides, minor purchases, refreshments, rest stops. It also states that changing Euro traveler's checks for cash generally incurs a fee. I hope that this clears this up.

I don't know what caused the "clsing" of your original post (I had never looked at it before now), but it's regrettable to se that it happened.

Others stumbling on THIS thread might not realize that this is part of a thread that has forty other posts on it.

Thank you for looking back and finding the original post! I was wondering why this post was closed as well. I hope that others do look at the post and see the history of this debate.

I would like the editor to comment on the "LOGIC" behind the deletion.

Closing the post? Did it not just roll past most recent 50? If "they" don't like it, don't they just remove it?
It was a bit rude in places. The usual "you are a terrible person for asking such a question & I want to blather on about Ugly Americans and their superior attitudes."
So, ple4ase explain about closing posts. Thank you.

Janeg: They closed the post by making it so you can't reply.

ah ha. I had never seen that before. You can call the closed thread up using Rex's thread site above, but at the bottom there is no "post a reply to this message" button.
One time I posted a reply to some far-fetched story and said that I didn't believe the poster. That single post just disappeared out of the thread.
So, management can closed a thread, delete an "offending" reply or remove a whole thread?
Okay, it is their ball.
