Mademoiselle Fifi -
Yes, the costumes for GWTW were totally based on the movie. Almost identical in some cases (but with alterations so that you can actually dance in them.)
Most memorable thing about the ballet for us Ameircans - the way the Confederate soldiers danced - Eastern European folk dance steps. We told our B&B hosts that we wondered if the Russians had invaded the American South. Pretty funny. And, since there are about 1 1/2 black people in Hungary, Mammy and another slave were played by white Hungarians in black face.
Oh yes - at the curtain calls/bows, the audience claps in unison. That was new to us.

Hi!
IŽd appreciate suggestions on hotels in Budapest. I was about to book a 69e a night at Bellevue B&B when I noticed Best Western Hotel Orion costs 76.80e, so I guess weŽd better off in a hotel, rather than a B&B. I am willing to pay under 80 euros, but want to be close to everything cause weŽll only stay for 3 days.
Also... I am considering to take the sleeper train between Budapest and Prague, to avoid 1 night at a hotel... has anyone done this trip? The comments on Prague Hlavni station scare me !!!
Thanks
