You can check the opening hours and closing days of most museums and sites at the Ministry of Culture and Sports website, clicking on "Information" in the sidebar. You may have to switch back to English on some pages. Honestly, though, you will see so many museums and sites on the mythology tour I thought it would be refreshing to see how Athenians live and eat on the food tour.
There is another company with a similar name, Athens Walking Tours, that also gets good reports. I suggested Athens Walks because I have met Kostas Chatzivasiliou, the owner, and can vouch for his reliability. When in the army he was an Evzone, the presidential guards who perform the ceremonies in Syntagma Square and guard other government buildings. His tours consistently get 5* reviews.

Thank you, all, for the additional advice and info. I emailed Athens Walks (Food Tour) and they are not running the tour on March 25. Kostos replied right away. With a reference like the one you've given, Heimdall, we will definitely look into booking the Food Tour or a walking tour with him on another day. I agree that it would be nice to see how modern day Athenians live. We will have our fill of ruins on the mythology tours. (That being said, though, has anyone visited the Temple of Hephaestus? That god is of particular interest to my son. It looks to be a very serene place on Google images...)
We can easily switch around our island day from March 24 to March 25. That seems like sound advice. We can also play it by ear and see how the weather looks and then decide on which island for our day trip.
Thank you! Thank you!

I loved Kostas' food tour. One place he takes you has a lot of spices. I bought a package of saffron about half the size of a pack of cigarettes for pocket change.and a large (their smallest) bag of Greek oregano that I am still enjoying.
