Things to do between Kilkenny & Dublin

My husband and I are visiting Ireland at the end of August. We have everything planned except the last day. Our day starts in Kilkenny (where we are staying overnight) and we have to return our rental car to Dublin Airport at 7pm. I've tried to find driving itineraries for Kilkenny through Glendalough and can't find anything. We also read about visiting Carlow. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Great views in the Wicklow mountains. Perhaps the Powerscourt waterfall and St Kevin's kitchen would be of interest.

I would opt for Glendalough. We really enjoyed our visit there.

While in the area we also really enjoyed the National Stud.

In Carlow there is a dolmen which might be of interest.
