We just spent two weeks in Sorrento this past March. Drove by beautiful Positano on the Amalfi Coast drive...it is HANGING on a hill and walking around would always be steep up and down. The town of Amalfi is lovely and the main part is flat...nice day trip. They say Ravello, (above Positano) is absolutely wonderful. Then there is Salerno, and of course interesting Pompeii for a day...and Paestum! Sorrento is gorgeous and worth a day trip or more! will you be driving.?..the Amalfi Coast drive is hilly with VERY tight curves and lots of busses.and Positano is right in the middle of the drive. ...but oh, so gorgeous.

Bitburger,
You may consider spending a couple nights in Capri and Ravello in addition to Positano, both wonderful but particularly magical if you stay overnight. Check out the Ravello concert series (www.rcs.amalficoast.it/)and try to be there when there is a performance. In May should be at least 1 or 2 a week.
From Positano, day trip to Amalfi, Sorrento, Pompeii and try hiking up to the beautiful Montepertuso.
Weather should be perfect, in the 70's. May need a sweater at night and also if you take a boat out it may get windy.

We just got back from Positano 2 weeks ago and it was beautiful. I posted a "Honeymoon Trip Report" and told about our day trip to Amalfi/Ravello. That might be fun for you. Our weather was nice with highs in the 60s and sunny. We layered and took light jackets every day but had no rain. Lucky, I guess. Where are you staying?

Hi,
There is a walk you might be interested in, "Path of the Gods". See http://www.villagesoftradition.it/vi...iera/itin1.htm
Take the bus to Amalfi and then to Bomerano and walk *downhill* back to Positano. I think it is about 3 - 4hr walk.
You get to ride the Coast road and then see it from above.
