The UnTrip Report

I want to thank anyone who contributed to what could have been another spectacular solo trip. Unfortunately, the airline cancelled my flight and due to work, I couldn’t reschedule.

This the first time I have had a trip fall through. I mean at the very last minute. The airline cancelled 4 hours before I had to be at the airport. Yes, it could have been a lot worse. I should be used to disappointments at my age, but I feel cheated out of new memories. In any case, I have dusted myself off and unpacked my hot weather sundresses, hat, sunscreen, bathing suits, itinerary and rebooked a trip to PEI, Canada. A shortened trip and not as far with the ability to drive back if I have to.

So this untrip report is as much about the joy of preparing to travel, as travelling itself. Stay tuned to a PEI trip report in the Canada Forum

You must be Canadian! Sorry about your dilemma.

We spent 3 weeks in May in Brittany, and enjoyed it very much. Came home, rested for a bit, then did a 2 week road trip through the Kootenays, Canadian Rockies, and Kananaskis. Saw so many beautiful places and did some hiking. We both agreed we should stay in our own country more often, as we enjoyed this trip more than the trip to France. Also, our dollar goes farther in Canada than in Europe.

So chin up, you are going to have a great time in PEI. Looking forward to the real trip report.

One jaw-dropping spot that people miss in Canada is Dinosaur Provincial Park in Alberta, east of Calgary. More impressive than the badlands in the US.

I'm sorry this happened to you, and everyone else who had a trip planned on Air Canada.

There is much to see in your magnificent country. I'm sure you can enjoy a domestic trip. 🇨🇦 🍁

kelsey22, I am so sorry to hear that you had to cancel your trip literally at the very last minute. I understand how disappointing that is. I had to cancel our first scheduled trip to Croatia in 2019 because I needed hip replacement surgery. Cancelled about a month before our departure date. But we were able to go about 4 months later.

You will love PEI, and I look forward to your TR. We spent a week on PEI 2 years ago and fell in love with it. In fact, I prefer PEI over Nova Scotia.

I took my kids there years ago. You are right- this is an amazing place. Highly recommend. It is indeed magical.
