Wow...I can't believe we're this close already last two questions.
The Servi Caixa machines to pick up Alhambra tickets in Granada. Are there many of them to go to the day before to pick up tickets? We're actually going in the morning and again that night since it is not open late on Sundays. We arrive from Barcelona the afternoon before.
On train travel, we have our printed out tickets. Do we just board train or are there machines we need to do something first before boarding?
Gracias and adios....

Hi, Tom, I'm currently in Córdoba! Great trip tho very hot right now! The printouts fir the train are the tickets - no need to do anything. Trains are a breeze to travel.
We're off to Granada on Wednesday so would appreciate the answer to Tom's question about picking up the Alhambra tickets as well.

Thanks progol...have a great trip and tell us how it goes..hopefully someone will answer the Alhambra question.
Now I have one more,
I booked a Vueling flight for the four of us from Barcelona to Granada (Optima fare).
I thought it had said we could check one piece of luggage (not more than 23 Kilo) for free and take one item on board (not more than 10 kilo). Now when I look, I don't see the carry-on. Are we allowed one small carry-on on Vueling Optima fare or is that extra? Thanks.

Your tickets to the Alhambra should be retrievable from any servi-caixa ATM in Spain.. there will most likely be one around the corner from your hotel. I have retrieved tickets in the past from other Madrid organisms at a local Valencia ATM, so I assume it is the same for this. Otherwise, in Granada, itself, should not be a problem anywhere.
"RECOGER/IMPRIMIR ENTRADAS" is what it MAY say on the menu.

Dave, my first "Mission" will be to find a nice restaurant for lunch and a refreshing Cava. By the way...Kim, Mary, Tracy and I are planning a weekend to complete our Mission Quest this fall.

Tom, my first stop in Barcelona would be Cerveceria Catalana. Cava, tapas, and they also have cerveza.

When is your arrival?
The Catalonia crew invades Barcelona Sunday (actually Kim and Mary get there Saturday to warn hotel guests of our impending arrival) then we head to Granada, Ronda, Zahara de la Sierra, Sevilla, Cordoba, Toledo and finally Madrid. Virtually the entire country is now under a mandatory "Maitai Alert"...Oh, the humanity!

We were in Barcelona this weekend for the Spanish Grand Prix. In addition to Cerveceria Catalana, which we always enjoy and highly recommend, we also tried the following during our visit--
- El Nacional, a new restaurant in an alley at Passeig de Gracia, 24; large space reminiscent of Eataly in NYC, with separate brasserie, fish restaurant, taperia, and several bars:

- La Pepita, a tapas restaurant/bar on the border between Eixample and Gracia, right around the corner from Bar Mut:

Enjoy your trip; we did much the same routing (Barcelona, Madrid, Toledo, Sevilla, Ronda, Granada) a year ago February and had an awesome time!
