Nice article(s), Mina. One thing, though: I don't think newspapers tend to take unsolicited articles, more's the pity.
Thank you Martha. I think it's hard to have a bad attitude on vacation anyway. I know you will have a good time.

Randy, yes I think you're right. LA times has a call out for travel articles, but they are very specific in what they want.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Hi Mina, I loved reading your post! It made me long to return to Ireland. I was there ten years ago (during college) and I can't wait to go back and experience it all again!

Those who have enjoyed Mina`s Irish visit will I think enjoy McCarthy`s Bar written by Pete McCarthy. It tells of his travels through Ireland staying mostly in B and Bs and is in the top ten selling travel books in Britain this year.Do not expect though to meet all the interesting people he met if you spend just 2 weeks on your Irish vacation.

jealous of what? I suppose I'd only be jealous if a) i thought it was funny and b) it was original.

Whilst a) is debatable, b) isn't.

People that call themselves 'crazy' and 'mad' or whatever usually are women who live alone. Ring a bell?
Johann (as if that were your real name!), you must not have read this entire thread to make these ignorant statements. Or if you did and just "don't get it" that is ok, but why intrude with your unkind remarks?
People like you are spoilers.

Johann:

About your points...

a) you are correct. b) does it matter here on this forum?

As for the crazymina thing, I started using this name for travel related subjects because I love to travel alone. My friends would say "You're going to go to xxx alone? You're crazy!"

I do not live alone (my parents live with me since they are on the Korean Retirement plan, aka, me) and I am allergic to cats (in case you were suggesting that also).

I refuse to believe that someone on this site could be jealous of a person they've never met. I just think that some people like to create a stir (whether they believe in what they write or not), which is fine by me. Make me a martini while you're at it!

Johann, I thought you would have figured it out by now. You are NOT allowed to post ANY criticisms on this thread. I am surprised Fodors has not deleted your remarks by now.

XXX--
There is a BIG difference between critiquing and just being nasty....As I see it, this is a TRAVEL forum, not a literary forum. If you don't like someone's writing style, go to the next post. There's no need for rudeness.

Happy Travels Everyone!
Debbie
You know xxx, I did find it kind of strange/funny that this thread was cleaned up, when it wasn't offensive (at least not to me) to begin with.

Fodor's is weird that way. (they're probably going to delete me now too.)

I was hoping Mina would come up with more adventures like this on her current European visit but so far I wait in vain.

I think Mina is too busy having adventures to write about them. And that's a GOOD thing. Picking up snippets that she's posted on various threads I would rather think of her zooming along the Amalfi coast, perched on the back of a scooter with the wind blowing in her hair, than sitting in an internet cafe writing to us! Hopefully she'll bring us up to date when her grand sojourn is over.

Topping this for the students who want to go to Ireland! And for anyone else who just needs a good laugh!

I agree with Scarlett that Mina is well worth reading. Not everybody who goes to Ireland will have such adventures but you never know. There are good value flights to Shannon and Dublin during the winter at www.aerlingus.com.Temperatures are around 40 degrees and the days are short.Snow is rare but rain is not, especially on the west coast.
