Hello Richard,

I´m glad to see your posting and your itinerary looks great.
In Munich try "Tantris"( Georg-Fichte Strasse 7) if you like to splurge on a meal. If you like to have a more traditional experience try one of the Biergarten restaurants or breweries, like "Andechser am Dom"(Weinstrasse 7).
In Baden-Baden I always recommend the "Park-Restaurant" at Brenner`s Park-Hotel, expensive but a real experience. The Hotel is a must-see(for me).
Another good restaurant is called "Zum Alde Gott"(Weinstrasse 10).
You might also try "Schloss Neuweier"(Mauerbergstrasse 21). The food was delicious and they offer wine from their own winery.

Sorry, can`t help with your other destinations.

Enjoy your trip

Miriam

Richard hello! In Lucerne, go to the Hotel Rebstock, Montana or The Hotel. They all have fine restaurants. Or the Balances. Right on the river. And the Old Swiss House (expensive though).

In Zurich, I suggest the Kronenhalle (a lot of paintings like Picasso, Chagall, etc.), Trattoria Antinori, Kropf, Zeughauskeller. All next to Paradeplatz. Take a trip on the lake, as well. However, the food there is not known as the best. Have a drink and eat later. Stop a a place the boat stops, like Rapperswil, and have a meal there.

Lake Como - We had a delicious lunch in the garden restaurant of The Villa D'este Resort [in Cernobio-sp?]. Reservations are necessary to get you past security. Be sure to allow time to tour the spendid public rooms and huge grounds; a great opportunity to see "how the other half lives".

Como- T: 031.270.166
Ristorante Imbarcadero (in the Hotel Metropole and Suisse)300 years old building, panoramic views, Victorian furniture and a wonderful summer terrace, with candles on each table, and tons of Palm trees etc.. the tagliatelle was made fresh by the chef and we had sea bass with leeks, and a breast of phesant seasoned with port. Classy, but not stuffy.

Cernobbio- 3 miles NW of Como, The Grand Hotel Villa d'Este, two restaurants, both excellent
www.villadeste.it

Near the Tremezzo, a mile or so away, Al Veluu (not a typo). T:0344.40.510
Should remind you of your time in Florence (at the restauratn you found) the owner Carlo and his son Luca , run the place...charming and again, wonderful views of the lake. In the winter when we were there, an enormous fireplace lit the room and they grow their produce from their own garden, and they make their own butter! Menu is definitely northern Italy, products from local farms nearby and the risotto al Veluu, (with champagne and green pepper sauce was heavenly)...

Hotel du Lac: www.fromitaly.it/bellagio/h3/dulac
2nd floor galssed in terrace and rooftop rest. garden fantastic views of the lake. Didn't eat here, just inspected the property and kitchen, met chef. SHOULD have eaten here.
