The place you always go back to

Is there a place that you would rather see for the 5th or 15th time
rather than going somewhere new?

Actually, a perfect solution for me is to do both. You know, go somewhere new first and then finish the trip by returning to the place that tugs at your heart. (Lac Leman, Lago Maggiore). Thanks for asking; I get a rush just typing the words. J.

In planning all my trips to Europe, I always try to find a way to come back to Venice.

I don't think I've taken enough trips and made enough repeat visits to any one city or region to say there's some place I "always go back to." However, the places I've visited most often and will certainly visit again are Florence (sometimes only short stays) and Sicily (not always the same places within Sicily, though).

Iceland...but I, like some of the others above, always try to combine this with a new place or make it an "extra" trip for the year.

Alas, I've only been there three times so far, and it's much easier to combine it with Europe than with my new love, Asia. But somehow I know I'll be returning to the "land of fire and ice."

Hi JandaO,

It seems that Paris is the place that draws me with Provence as second choice.

I do Europe 2 or 3 times a year but always find time to spend some part of each trip in Paris. Not even close to running out of new things to see and do there. I love all of Europe but there is no place like Paris strikes and all.
