The European man with beer bellies that wear speedos and black socks with sandals and their heavy set wives that wear thong bikinis.

-The fact that a traveler is reluctant to acknowledge other living styles.
-An arrogant behavior, especially if they believe that they posses all the knowledge of the world.
-When a fellow traveler snores.

It's Word formatting. To avoid, you either have to convert it to plain text before pasting into the posting window, OR preview and edit the post to fix it before posting. You can also go into your Word tools menu, click on "auto correct options," then click the tab for "auto format as you type." You then have to uncheck the boxes for "replace straight quotes with smart quotes," fractions, etc... In my opinion though, it's more efficient to use one of the first two options.

Travelers who everytime they go to eat somewhere they say.....well in the US we get free soda refills....well in America we do it this way....well in America we are all .....f.t....augh!! well, then go back to the US!!!! why even travel abroad when you are not going to experience other culture to the fullest and expect that every country/culture should be like in the US.

Do you REALLY find other people annoying when you are on vacation? Not acting holier than thou, but Im usually too busy enjoying myself and taking in all the new, fantastic things. After all the effort to get there - why waste any time on the petty annoyances of others! Chill!

Yes, I agree with Aine, but sometimes the annoying ones are the people you travel with...ahaha.

Robert was a friend and peer way long ago.

I just wanted to put a little spark ....haha ....we all love our love ones on the good and bad moments. At least I can say that my future wife and I slept on the streets of Pamplona during San Fermin Festival.....I have to give her a lot of credit for doing that, so she can complaint all she wants...ahaha

The French that refuse to use deodorant. Why don't they just stay home and stink up their own country?

The British that refuse to tip in our restaurants/bars. Why don't they just stay home? I always believed in the old saying "when in Rome, do as the Romans do"

The Europeans with bad teeth. Why do they smile? Don't they realize that it's not a good look?

The Japanese with their cameras, pulling up, 6 busloads deep, to take picture of my office window, just because I tipped the guide to sell them a story about my office window. It works every time. It's a beautiful thing.

Tourists sleeping in the streets. ha ha ha Carlos couldnt resist, sorry! Dont worry, we had to do the same things in NYC during the blackout when nobody could get home, so I guess its worse the locals sleeping in the streets.

oh boy, now you are bringing back memories....the day of the black out we were stuck at the airport at the terminal for 8 hours waiting for our plane to Polan, no food, no water, no nothing, everybody stank...but that's ok, it was hot, we loaded our own luggage to the plain because the luggage handlers had enough, I wish I couldve taken some pics and sue the airline and the airport.....why not, everybody sues in the US ahhahahha.......

I must say that we enjoyed NW PT recently - "no" NA's and "few" Brits.
Unruly toddlers are really the only thing that bothers me - and I have shared my seat and lap with others' pets on several occasions.

Mikemo,

I married into the Pileggi family. My husband has relatives in NY, NJ, and PA. The Pileggi?s are from Calabria. I know that Tony's great grandfather had two wifes (Tony's family is from the first wife in Italy); the great grandfather married his second wife in the US and their offsprings includes Nicholas Pileggi, the writer. The first wife never came to the US and I suppose the husband never divorced the first wife.

The most annoying thing about other travellers would have to be:-
1. Expectations that things should be similar to what they get back home, eg. ice machines on every hotel floor, or the beer/food is not the same.
2. Travellers being too intolerant, or being loud mouthed.
3. Travellers not being courteous.
4. Travellers who not research the country they visiting, nor having an understanding of the culture of that particular country.
5. Travellers who don't try to learn a few language phrases for the country they are visiting.
6. Finally, travellers who are "demanding" all the time, and don't realise that they are a "guest" in that country.
