>>>stop with the live posting
That's ridiculous hazel1. She can survive a lengthy multi-city Europe trip with two toddlers and she can most certainly handle live posting with a handful of folks here who are negative. She's a grown woman, not a girl in junior high.

None of us 'know' Claire, and so saying she would probably enjoy her trip better if "fill in the blank" is a bit of nonsense. What we do know is that she likes to ask for advice, most of which she then ignores or changes when the travel agent steps in. I do agree that with two toddlers and a mum she probably has little time to blog live, but that would be the decision of yes, a grown woman.
Are we in France yet?

It's like one of those 90s post-modern novels... "unreliable narrator", changing authorial point-of-view, mutability of truth, yadda, yadda.
I say keep rolling. I no longer care whether it's all true... partly true but embellished ... or entirely fabricated.
As travel, the whole thing is - to a stodgy, stingy curmudgeon like me - a total train wreck. But the poster's emotional buoyancy, indifference to criticism and lobotomized sunniness make for compelling reading.

Oh, I think it's all true. I would never accuse Claire of being an imposter of any kind. It's the logistics themselves, and the insistence on a useless travel agent and the ignoring of all the thousands of bits of good advice here that are grating to me. Not to mention the shop, shop, shopping.
I like "lobotomized sunniness." and "emotional bouyancy." You got that right, tedgale. She's a good sport. Not such a good traveler, but a good sport.
What in he** happened to the iphone anyway, and how did it appear in the hotel room? I'd love to hear an explanation about that.
I can't wait for France.

My guess is she never had the phone with her that day - maybe was using her Mom's phone for family photos and simply forgot which phone was where.
Travel is exciting but I cannot fathom doing it with small children.

I traveled all over Europe with small children for years and years, so I have no issue with that. I took my kids to Europe every year at least once, sometimes up to four times a year, with kids 2-4, 4-6, 6-8, 8-12, 12-16, 16-18, then on until they were adults. Who knows about the phone - it's really weird - but the concept of traveling in Europe with small children simply is not weird. Maybe for you it is, but for many of us, it is entirely normal. Not only in Europe, but anywhere else in the world.
